an ordinary-extraordinary weekend

An ordinary weekend, this one, filled with extraordinary things.

An 18 mile run, during which I stopped to stretch out on the arm of a lock gate in the sunshine (and nearly fell asleep). At the end I ate an ice cream. And then another one. Cafe-at-home poached eggs for breakfast.

An entire day spent just sitting on a garden chair, looking at the wall, the rosehips, the willow, the sky. Feeling the sunshine warm my aching bones. Reading, and thinking, and planning.

An early morning walk through the park. Joining a flute choir, and learning how to make my flute sound like The Clangers.

Everyday things. Extraordinary things.
